Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust Awards 25 Civic Engagement Non-Profits with $3.1 Million in General Support Grants

Grants will help advance programs focused on empowering marginalized communities and increasing voter engagement

DENVER (April 3, 2026) – The Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust awarded $3.1 million in civic engagement grants to 25 organizations in Arizona and North Carolina focused on increasing voter registration and turnout within marginalized and under-resourced communities and advocating for improved election access.

Since 2016, Katz Amsterdam has awarded grants now totaling over $80 million. These grants have supported initiatives to improve mental and behavioral health services and systems in mountain communities in the Western U.S., advance reproductive freedom and equity, and help foster a multiracial democracy through increased civic engagement.

“Each year, we are impressed and inspired by the work of so many organizations working to empower and engage community members in our civic process,” said Rob Katz, co-founder of the Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust and Foundation. “These organizations are committed to building a true multiracial democracy and we are honored to support their efforts.”

Rob Katz, former CEO and current executive chairperson of the board of Vail Resorts, and his wife, Elana Amsterdam, who was a New York Times bestselling author and founder of Elana’s Pantry, launched the Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust in 2017 and the Katz Amsterdam Foundation in 2018 to be a catalyst for eliminating inequities, increasing access to opportunity, and improving outcomes for all.

The 2026 civic engagement general support grants were awarded to organizations focused in North Carolina and Arizona.
