Foundation Information
The Katz Amsterdam Foundation strives to be a catalyst for eliminating inequities, increasing access to opportunity, and improving outcomes for all. We work in partnership with communities to advance just and equitable approaches to accessing mental, behavioral and reproductive healthcare and protecting our civil rights by increasing civic engagement and participation in our multiracial democracy. As a foundation, our priority is to support and make grants for community-driven work that meaningfully improves the lives of all individuals and the social well-being of our communities.
Rob and Elana formally launched the Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust in 2017 and the Katz Amsterdam Foundation in 2018 to support the communities and issues they care about deeply. They have always been committed to giving back and shared a great passion for social justice.
There are no foundation offices. Program and operations staff work remotely across the country.
The Katz Amsterdam Charitable Trust is a donor advised fund at Fidelity Charitable. The Charitable Trust recommends grants to 501(c)3 organizations. The Katz Amsterdam Foundation is a private operating foundation.
Grants and Programs
Katz Amsterdam supports organizations focused on ensuring civic engagement in North Carolina and Arizona; and improving mental behavioral health and investing in emerging social service nonprofits and programs in western mountain resort communities. Katz Amsterdam does not accept unsolicited grant proposals. Staff actively identifies and researches grantees based on priorities and fit. However, if you believe your work aligns with the foundation’s priorities, you are welcome to submit an inquiry here.
